Danny Minogue elected Alpine Canada chairman
CALGARY, ALTA (Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011) - Montreal businessman and former ski racer Danny Minogue was elected Wednesday as chairman of Alpine Canada at the organization's annual general meeting.
Danny, 56, is a former elite ski racer for the national Can-Am squad in the 1970s. As founder and CEO of FitTime Nutrition he brings over three decades of managerial experience in the surgical supply business. Danny also supports several hospital foundations and chairs several charity events. Most recently, he was co-chair of Montreal's 2011 Ride to Conquer Cancer, with over 1,850 participants that raised $6.7 million. He was also nominated as a finalist for Ernst and Young's Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011.
"We've assembled a team of very successful business people from across Canada who are either former elite ski racers or those with a passion for the sport," said Danny. "The three most important messages that the new board is embracing are good governance, fundraising and podium results."
